What happens if I’m unable to attend my appointment? If you’re unable to attend your appointment or need to reschedule / cancel the booking, you must contact us in writing at least 72 hours prior to your appointment. If the required notice is provided, we will happily adjust the booking accordingly. Failure to provide adequate notice of cancellation or reschedule requirements automatically results in the forfeit of non-refundable booking fee and the remaining cost of the appointment will be charged. No exceptions will be made. If a customer wishes to cancel the booking, the non-refundable booking fee will NOT be reimbursed.
-
How many times can I reschedule my booking? If the required amount of notice is provided (72 hours prior), clients can transfer their booking over to a new date, within 12 months of initial appointment. Clients are permitted up to 3 reschedules of the initial appointment. If the rescheduling exceeds the limit, a new non-refundable booking fee is required for the booking?
-
Do I need a touch up?Tiny tattoos or Fineline tattoos are generally a two-step process and a touch up may be required if the artist deems necessary. Please note, not all tattoos will require a touch up. We offer 1 complementary touch up between 8 weeks to 6 months. Please contact us via instagram DM with a healed photo of your tattoo, no sooner than 7 weeks after your appointment. If a touch up is requested by the client 6+ months after your appointment, a service fee will incur.
-
How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?22 TATTOO is strictly 18+ and will not tattoo any minors, regardless of parental consent. Valid photo ID in the form of a passport, drivers licence or proof of age card must be brought with you to the appointment.
-
What areas will you not tattoo? We do not tattoo the head, ears and face or below the ankle bone.
-
Can I get multiple tattoos in one session?Of course! We offer discounts for bundle bookings (multiple tattoos for one person in one session). Please notify us prior to your appointment with all of the desired designs, sizes and placements for your appointment as they must be approved and quoted. We may not have time for new additional tattoos on the day of your appointment if we are not notified before.
-
How much will it hurt?Pain varies between each person! We promise to take great care of you, be as gentle as we can and make you as comfortable as possible.
-
Can I use numbing cream?Tiny Tattoos or Fineline Tattoos are typically smaller, quicker and less painful than traditional body tattoos. Numbing cream may have the ability to affect the texture of the skin, ink implantation and retention. Due to these reasons, we request you do NOT use numbing cream for your tattoo appointment.
-
Can I get tattooed while I’m on Roaccutaine or acne medication?Unfortunately we do not accept clients that are on Roaccutaine or acne medication. We recommend to wait at least 6 months after you have finished the medication, or the duration of your course of medication (i.e medicated for 1 year then wait 1 year).
-
Can I get tattooed if I keloid scar?Unfortunately we will not tattoo anyone who keloid scars. A keloid scar is caused by an excess of protein (collagen) in the skin during healing. They are a thick, raised scar that are often lumpy or rigid. If you are unsure if you keloid scar, please contact your doctor for confirmation.
-
How long will my tattoo take to heal?It generally takes up to 2 weeks for the tattoo to ‘heal’ externally on the skin, however can take 8+ weeks for a tattoo to be deemed completely healed.
-
Can you tattoo over a scar?Yes we can, however it will depend on how the scar has healed. Please be advised that the scarred area must be completely healed with no redness or abrasions around the site. Please contact 22 TATTOO with photos of the proposed scarred area so we can advise if we are a suitable artist for your tattoo.
-
What are your piercing age requirements? As a professional studio, we have a higher standard of care than the minimum legal requirement. Therefore, we will only pierce people who are 16yrs+ and have parental / legal guardian consent.
-
How much will it hurt?Pain varies between each person! We promise to take great care of you, be as gentle as we can and make you as comfortable as possible.
-
How long will my piercing take to heal?Different Piercings have different healing times, and different people may take longer to heal. Please see our healing time guide in the piercing aftercare section.
-
Are all piercings suitable for everyone? Each person’s anatomy is different and therefore not everyone will be a suitable candidate for the requested areas. If we are unable to pierce the desired area, your piercer will be able to guide you to alternative options on the day or can credit the non-refundable booking fee for you to use in the future.
-
Do I have to downsize my piercing? You will initially be pierced with a longer bar to allow room for swelling. Leaving long jewellery in after your piercing has finished healing will make it prone to catching or snagging on your hair and clothing, and pushing down on the skin when sleeping. This trauma may cause piercing bumps that can lead to migration of your piercing, causing it to move and look crooked. Please return to us at 6-8 weeks to downsize your piercing.
-
Can I downsize my piercing jewellery myself at 6-8 weeks? We strongly advise against changing your own jewellery in a freshly pierced area. We always recommend booking in a downsize or change over appointment to ensure the piercing is ready to be changed and is healing correctly.
-
Can I get pierced if I keloid scar?We will not pierce you if you keloid scar. Please note, it is common for people to confuse irritation bumps with keloid scarring and recommend you do your research between the two.
-
I think my piercing is irritated or infected? Please contact your piercer straight away.
-
Can I have a ring / hoop in my piercing straight away?We will never-ever pierce using a ring (unless it is a septum or daith) due to these reasons: INFECTION: rings are circular objects, therefore can pull dust, dirt and bacteria through. Studs will hold the nasty stuff on top of the stud, and won’t transfer through the fresh channel. MIGRATION: rings put a lot of strain and stress externally on the piercing, causing it to pull and move in the skin. HEALING: we pierce straight, and want it to heal straight. If you use a ring, it will curve and not allow the area to heal correctly.
-
Is jewellery included in the cost?Yes, all piercing pricing includes our standard jewellery range.
-
Can I bring my own jewellery to my piercing appointment? For safety and hygiene reasons, we do NOT allow you to bring your own jewellery to your piercing appointment.
-
Do you use a needle or a gun?We exclusively use single-use needles for piercing as they provide more precise and less traumatic results compared to piercing guns.
